Welcome to Jazzmers Dance and Fitness, Inc.
Jazzmers was created in 1987 by 11-year old Amy-Jo Jesmer in San Dimas, CA by teaching her teacher's daughter some dance moves. The next month, Amy-Jo found herself teaching her teacher's daughter, in addition to 3 of her friends, and by 1991, Amy-Jo had more than 40 students in 4 classes per week. Amy-Jo served as artistic director until 1998, at which point her sister Claire took over the business.
The Jesmer sisters (Josie, Amy-Jo, and Claire) have enjoyed rigorous training as well as competitive dance throughout their lives. Jazzmers dance troupe members have performed in parades, community festivals, church fairs and competitions. Jazzmers alumni have been seen on the big and small screens, in music videos and on television.
Creative Director Claire Jesmer has danced for more than 20 years, coached cheer, and choreographed numerous jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, modern, cheer and songleading dance pieces all over the state of California. She has danced in music videos for Paula Abdul, M.C. Hammer and Mariah Carey, and has performed at the MTV Video Music Awards, KidPower Dance Company, and many other star-studded engagements.
